Padded Armour
Based on historical paintings, there are many different styles of padded known as gambesons, aketons, jupon, jacks and arming doublets.
They were made to go under armour to protect from the armour or to use on its own instead of chain mail. Gambesons were a cheap form of protection for men fighting in medieval times without armour.
Various names have been given to these garments throughout history so names may differ.
